From the Head Teacher, Mrs Sally Hill

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Sir John Sherbrooke Junior School website!

As you browse the site you will see that there is always something exciting going on in school, but here is a little taster of what we are all about.

The school has a wonderful ethos which is constantly commented upon by new visitors into school.

I am extremely lucky to work with such a dedicated team of staff and governors who are totally committed to ensuring that each child reaches their full potential, in a happy and safe environment. We try to make learning as interesting as possible. The children particularly like our theme days for example, the Mad Professor day where they got up to some very explosive activities!

As well as having excellent ICT facilities, including a Smart board in every classroom, we are lucky enough to have two teachers who speak Spanish. This means that every child is able to learn a modern foreign language as soon as they start school.

This year we successfully achieved our Gold Healthy School's award which we are very proud of. Our school meals are lovely! We have a single choice menu with family service. We are also in the process of growing our own vegetables!

The school grounds have been developed considerably over the past few years and both playgrounds now have a trim trail and permanent markings and goal posts. The upper school playground also has a willow tunnel and dome, which were created by the children.

These are just a few of our strengths, but as you browse I am sure you will get an even better picture of what we are like.

We would be delighted to welcome you should you wish to visit the school. Please contact us using the details below.

Happy browsing!
