  • Primary Goals

    Congratulations to around 16 of our pupils who have taken part in the 10 week Primary Goals Programme run by Notts County Football in the Community. We thank the team for all their great work with the children.

    Well done to all our Year 6 children who have completed the 10 week DARE course. Their graduation assembly demonstrated what they have learned over the sessions with Dare Officer O'Sullivan as well as with the  Year 6 teaching team. During the assembly, they were awarded with their certificates and prizes were given for the best poster designs.
  • Family Bonfire Lunch

    Great fun was had by all the wonderful friends and family members that came to our bonfire night themed lunch. There were hotdogs and jacket potatoes as well as tasty syrup sponge pudding. Children did colouring activities at the decorated tables and our visitors were able to spend time with their children whilst catching up with friends and staff members. Thank you so much to our fantastic kitchen staff for all their hard work.

    Our school was represented in both football and basketball events during the first half term. All participants showed great teamwork skills and the basketball team was thrilled to be awarded medals after taking 1st and 2nd places! Well done to all the children and many thanks to our coach Mr Tilling who said they were 'a credit to the school'. 
  • Boggle Hole

    Year 4 children had a fantastic residential trip to Boggle Hole in Yorkshire. The two night trip involved lots of fun coastal activities. Some great photos can be seen on our twitter feed.
  • Love in a Box

    The children have had a special assembly about Love in a Box and everyone has received a leaflet explaining all about this worthwhile cause and how contributions can be made. This is an amazing project where shoe boxes are filled with gifts for children who would otherwise not receive a Christmas present.
  • Ancient Greece

    To get the new school year (and their Autumn topic) off to a great start, children in years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a day of discovery about Ancient Greece. They participated in a variety of activities, including boat building, column construction using art straws, mask design as well as food tasting.

  • Sports Day

    The weather was on our side for an afternoon of sporting activities. The children took part in events such as the obstacle race, egg and spoon and hurdles. A new event for us at SJS was shot-put which the children have thoroughly enjoyed learning. Ruby House team was awarded the winner's trophy. Congratulations  to them and to all the children who took part.
