• Shakespeare Week 2018

  Shakespeare has once again taken over the school! Every class has spent every lesson having their learning themed around Shakespeare. Our whole school play for this year has been Macbeth and the children have explored it in many different ways. Each class visited the 'Macbeth Mystery Room' and solved the clues to work out the story. The children have also done a wide range of lessons such as capacity potion making in maths, Macbeth themed poetry across the whole school, Scottish Highland games and army training in PE, Shakespeare art, shadow puppetry, cooking, singing and much, much more.

  

• Winter Olympic Athlete in School

  We were very lucky to have Josh Cheetham, one of the GB Winter Olympic Short Track speed skaters, in school. He led assembly, telling us about what it was like at the Olympics and what he has to do to train to be a sportsman. He also led two PE sessions for our Year 6 children.

• BBC Sports Reporter in School

  We were extremely excited to have BBC sports reporter Colin Hazelden in school to help launch our Winter Olympics sports commentating film week. We learnt all about how he became a reporter, what skills you need to be one and how you create a sports report. 

  

• Meeting the Blue Peter Presenters

  It was an incredible trip to the Ice Arena for the top House Point scoring children from each class. Not only did they get to watch the Blue Peter presenters Radzi and Lindsey having a speed skating skate off, they then saw several speed skaters, including members of the GB Olympic Team, taking part in a training session.

  Year 5 spent 3 incredible days in York, exploring the historical city and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

  

• Shakespeare Class' Assembly

  Shakespeare class did  whole school assembly based on William Shakespeare. We were extremely proud of how hard they all worked to learn lines, facts and songs and how well they worked as a team. It was entertaining and informative.
